This is a rare opportunity to join our Clients established delivery team at an exciting time in the company’s growth. They are currently seeking an enthusiastic Design Engineer to join there team.

You will be based in the office in Colchester although from time to time you may be required to travel to sites, clients, sub-contractors or suppliers in the interests of the business and professional development.

Office Hours:
Mon-Thurs 9.00 – 5.00pm
Fri 9.00 – 4.00pm

25 days holiday plus bank holidays are awarded each calendar year.
Salary £26K-£30K depending on experience.

Job Summary:
To support the design of our products with accuracy, utilising the software provided to the full and liaising with the manufacturer to ensuring that they are fabricated accordingly, producing 2D drawings for client approval and conversion to 3D fabrication modelling for in house use and site installation drawings.

Technical Requirements:
Essential

• Good working knowledge of Solidworks
• Good working knowledge of AutoCAD LT or similar
• Solid understanding of practical sheet metal fabrication
• Solid understanding of CFD simulation
• Some experience of using PDM software
• Qualified to Higher National or degree level in an engineering discipline
• Conversant with general office software – MS Office, Powerpoint, etc
