Business Development Manager

SALARY: £40,000 – £45,000 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

When this role is being undertaken competently, i.e. after induction and any role-specific training, the post holder will:                                   

  • Managing & developing the business to achieve & exceed targets
  • Sales & Margin development via increased penetration of the existing customer base
  • Reporting progress & liaising at hub / area / regional level
  • Delivering presentations to customers & staff on the feature & benefits of the product/service group
  • Managing and developing relationships with suppliers at local level
  • Monitoring key customer accounts with the Hub/Service Centre Managers
  • Ensuring high levels of customer service at all times
  • Provide appropriate training and coaching to the hub and service centres and external sales force to increase their product and service awareness within the product group
  • Operate at all times in a manner that complies with company and Customer Health & Safety Policy and report all cases of non-conformance to site management

Operational

  • Good knowledge of some or all categories of Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul products and service range relevant to pumps
  • Ability to effectively manage sales, margin and customer price savings to achieve company profitability targets
  • Effectively manage time and territory in order to maximise opportunities and minimise costs

Qualifications, specific knowledge or experience required

These should be specific and essential for the role and should be identified during the recruitment process.

  • Specific technical, specialised or professional know-how needed Knowledge of OEM / MRO market and products and their applications
  • Minimum vocational/academic qualifications required GCSE (or equivalent) English Language and Mathematics.
  • Professional Qualification required Modern technical or commercial apprenticeship, A level or relevant NVQ level 3 or equivalent
  • Knowledge and level of proficiency in the use of IT software packages required Proficient user of windows based programmes.
  • Proficiency in the use of any specialised equipment
  • Minimum post qualification time and experience necessary to become fully proficient in the role Minimum of 5 years work experience in a commercial, distribution or industrial environment relevant to industrial pumps.
